Britney Spears, the USA’s pop sensation was declared dead on Sony Music Twitter handle on the boxing day of this year. According to the reports available with us, the American singing and dancing sensation’s death was first published by Sony Music’s social media account. Then the news spread like wildfire on Facebook and Instagram within no time.
As most of the sites quoted the twitter handle of Sony Music as a reference, the news was considered to be authentic.
But thankfully, the New York-based Music Corporation realized this blunder on time and immediately issued an apology to all Britney Spears fans. It also posted in its latest social media posting that the star will receive a written apology from its authorities soon.
Sony Music Corporation later revealed that its twitter account was hacked by a group called “ OurMine” which then started spreading the fake death statement of the pop sensation.
The 35-year old “Baby one more time” celebrity replied in one of her late night social media posts of Monday saying that she was fine and well.
In the meantime, RIP messages starting pouring for Britney Spears from Monday Afternoon. For 3 full hours, the Billboard Magazine social media account buzzed with many teary eyed emojis.
But as soon as Sony issued a public statement on this issue, the RIP messages started to decline.
Sony immediately removed those tweets and then issued an apology.
Folk Music sensation Bob Dylan was the first to react to Britney Spears death news.
Spears manager Adam Leber also publicly issued a statement through CNN yesterday evening saying that Britney was safe and secure and was busy with her family on a brief vacation. He added that the false tweets from the Music Corporation were due to a hack caused by some mischief creators.
