Al Jazeera which is a Qatar-based news organization has made it official that it was a victim of cyber attack. The news organization issued a public statement yesterday which said that all its websites and digital platforms were undergoing systematic and continual hacking attempts which were gaining intensity every hour and were taking various forms. As per our sources, the attack variant ranges from DDoS to malware attacks.
Though the hackers hailing from a foreign nation are trying to intercept the database of the news resource, Al Jazeera clarified that none of its digital assets have been compromised.
Al Jazeera wants the world to make a note of the point that the attack on its organization came within a month gap of Qatar News Agency’s cyber attack.
Early this month, at least six nations which include Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, UAE, Bahrain, and the Maldives, along with Eastern Libya severed diplomatic ties with Qatar for supporting the objectives of terrorist organizations and nurturing their intentions.
FBI’s probe discovered that the whole mess started when Qatari news agency tried to plant fake news against Doha and the Qatari leader.
US President Donald Trump also expressed his views on this issue by saying that he will act as a catalyst in the diplomatic decision of the Saudis taken against Qatar and will fully support the decision taken by the six nations which are critical to fighting terror and extremist funding.
In a fresh media statement released by Al Jazeera’s network director Mostefa Souag just a couple of hours ago, he dismissed allegations that his news agency was interfering in other country affairs which were totally wrong and baseless.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, has taken the cyber attack issue very seriously and has ordered his tanks to be ready for a possible military action against his nation’s Gulf neighbors.
