American security software provider McAfee has made it official that it will help AWS to bolster its cloud security features with a new offering called “Virtual Network Security Platform”. The security provider said in its media briefing that its new product will help negate the single point of failure risks for Amazon Web Services users.
An early preview of the new AWS Cloud Security product is available to developmental teams for testing. The resource will help them conduct simulated cyber attacks to test the strength of AWS cloud security.
McAfee expects to improve network congestion through its Virtual Network Security Platform as the solution is designed specifically to the needs of distributed AWS Infrastructure.
On another note, AWS yesterday announced that it is offering AWS Migration Hub to simplify and accelerate discovery and migrations of data centers to the cloud. This will help all those organizations which are choosing to move entire data centers to the cloud in order to cut down CapEx and OpEx costs.
As per the details provided to Cybersecurity Insiders by AWS, the new AWS Migration Hub includes discovery, server and database migration, as well as tracking and management features for organizations which are looking to move all or some of their applications to the cloud.
Note 1- The new AWS Migration Hub is a free service which is available to AWS customers on a global note.
Note 2- Data Analytics and Machine Learning have emerged as key cases for many organizations to move to the cloud. AWS Glue Service is expected to resolve issues related to migration by providing managed extract, transformation, and load (ETL) capabilities.
