Russian Cyber Attack on Kaspersky Software is unreal!

From the past four months, there have been enough reports suggesting Russian government influence on the computer networks of US government agencies through Kaspersky software.

The Wall Street Journal was seen quoting two stories in this time frame saying that the Russian government got hold of critical national security info by penetrating into a home computer of a contractor working for National Security Agency in 2015 via anti-malware software of Kaspersky. The first story said that Kaspersky was leaking defense-related info to Russia from government computers using its anti-virus software. The second story said that Russian Cyber Army has tampered Kaspersky AV software in order to spy on any computer that uses the application.

This made the 45th US President Donald Trump issue an Executive Order banning the usage of Kaspersky software on the computers operating in all US government agencies.

Meanwhile, Kaspersky has strongly denied working with the Russian government on Espionage and released an inside investigation report last week proving its innocence. The report suggests that Kaspersky doesn’t have any kind of ties with the Russian government as mentioned in few media resources.

Eugene Kaspersky, the founder of the Moscow based company said that Kaspersky Labs has and will continue to do what it does best: focusing on protecting its customers from cyber threats regardless of where those threats may come from.

He added in his statement that coming from Russia doesn’t make a software company a spy in the United States and criticized some media sources for publishing false allegations without any valid proof.
