Facebook and Microsoft do their bit to stop Cyber Attacks on the United States!

Social Media Giant Facebook and Technology Pioneer Microsoft are said to be doing their best in reducing cyber attacks on the United States. This information was disclosed by Tom Bossert, the advisor to Homeland Security who added in his statement that both companies have also received appreciation from the Trump Administration for doing so.

As per the details available to the media, Facebook is said to have taken down suspicious accounts conducting cyber attacks and Microsoft acted swiftly to patch vulnerabilities in its operating systems- all to avoid another cyber disruption mimicking WannaCry and NotPetya ransomware attacks.

Both the companies have come into open and confirmed their role of action in this scenario. Facebook said that it has deleted accounts linked with hackers especially Lazarus Group of North Korea, all in a bid to slow down their activity on the web. The company is also doing its best in weeding out fake profiles by introducing a selfie-pic program, which asks all respective Facebook users to upload the latest selfie in order to confirm their existence.

As Facebook has a long-standing commitment to security, it is continuing to put in efforts to protect people from cyber threats and keep its platform safe.

Last week, Microsoft CEO Brad Smith said that his company is putting in a lot of efforts to clean computers infected with malware, disable accounts being used to pursue cyber attacks and is also teaming up to strengthen its Windows Defense policies to prevent all future infections and reinfections.

As the cost of cyber attacks could lead to a $6 trillion loss on an annual note by 2021, both tech giants are doing their best to control the damage to the most.

Now the question arises what the other companies like Google, Amazon, Twitter are doing on this note…?

Hope, they turn up soon with their own set of tactics to prevent cyber attacks on the United States and also on the digital infrastructure located across the world.
