As Oracle claims to gain a leadership position in the cloud security business, the company’s CEO Mark Hurd says that 95% of cyber attacks on databases can be prevented if the admins chose to patch the systems in a timely manner.
While attending the Oracle Media Day event at the company headquarters Hurd revealed that on an average databases’ are left unpatched for 8- 9 months or sometimes for 24months.
Mark suggested that most of the database cyber attacks can be prevented if usage of Autonomous databases becomes a norm among organizations.
For that reason, Oracle is trying its best to convince its customers with complementing autonomous databases as it can prevent its clients from being digitally invaded by cybercriminals.
One of the prime benefits an autonomous database can deliver is that it can distribute test, monitor and tune security patches required in a timely manner without the interference from humans.
In addition to the new database service, which has been available since Feb. this year, Oracle is also offering autonomous PaaS service for application development, analytics & integration and those are as follows-
Oracle Autonomous Integration Cloud- In this new offering Integration of multiple Oracle and non-Oracle SaaS and on-premises applications is possible by using machine learning and automated application integration.
Oracle Autonomous Analytics Cloud- This cloud platform uses machine learning to gain intelligence and proactively suggest insights and provides predictive analytics on IoT data using domain-specific machine learning and historical patterns of failure.
Oracle Autonomous Visual Builder Cloud- In this new offering of Oracle, business users and developers are allowed to use no-code technology to develop and deploy mobile and web apps. Basic app creation is fulfilled through automated code generation and delivery of multiple apps in an automated way across iOS and Android platforms.
Thus, by offering innovative and structural security framework, Oracle can easily achieve its commitment to deliver a fully autonomous cloud platform leading it to a unique PaaS position in the heavily competitive enterprise cloud marketplace.
