BlackBerry Key 2 which is about to release next month is touted to be the world’s most secure Android Smartphone. On partnering with TCL communications, Blackberry is all set to launch ‘KEY 2’ a sequel to last years ‘Key 1’ which comes with enhanced security and privacy features right from the start.
BlackBerry KEY 2 comes preloaded with DTEK, a company owned application that removes the complexity of security by providing an ‘at a glance security meter’. The meter is capable of keeping a tab on how the apps on the mobile phone are accessing data and gives permissions only to the trusted ones.
So, users of BlackBerry KEY 2 can easily see and manage how the apps are being downloaded, what data is being accessed by them and what all hardware is being used by them- like Camera, location access, microphone and more.
The BlackBerry DTEK app has a new Proactive Health Check feature which enables users to scan the device and receive instant feedback on potential vulnerabilities and security optimizations.
BlackBerry Key 2 has an app feature called ‘Locker’ which prevents critical folders and files to be uploaded to the cloud. The Firefox Focus, a Mozilla powered private browser helps users to keep their web browsing sessions private on a complete note.
Regular security features such as fingerprint and password access will be available on the device by default.
As Blackberry Key 2 is a part of Google led Android Enterprise Recommended Program, its users are assured of receiving security updates in a timely manner and at least one major OS update.
The device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo on an initial note and will get the next OS version update by this year-end.
Its suggested price is likely to be $649 USD or £579.
