Russian Cybersecurity Firm Kaspersky is reported to have inked a 5-year deal with Interpol to jointly fight against cybercrime on a global note. Honestly speaking the latest agreement is just a renewal of the past accord on the same lines made by the two parties back in 2014.
As a part of the deal, Kaspersky will render support related to human resources, training, and Cyber threat intelligence related info with Interpol- all to strengthen the cyber threat capabilities of later.
Interpol World 2019 which is taking place in Singapore witnessed the agreement formalities between the two parties.
“As threat actors are becoming increasingly sophisticated, collaboration across the ecosystem and sharing of skillfulness is turning more crucial than ever. This is where our collaboration with Interpol will help the law enforcement accelerate their presence in the field of Information Technology which is much needed to fight cybercrime on a global note at this juncture”, said Eugene Kaspersky, CEO, Kaspersky.
Kaspersky’s vision is to help Interpol in Cybercrime related investigations by sharing related data to assist with full digital forensics.
Recently, advanced free threat research and detection services have been offered for law enforcement agencies across the world by Kaspersky to thwart sophisticated cyber threats. But the service will only be rendered to investigations related to individuals and corporates and not the crimes which take place on public networks such as cyber attacks on Power grids and other national infrastructures.
