Bitdefender offers mobile security to chats on messaging apps

Romania-based Cybersecurity firm BitDefender has added a new security feature to safeguard its users from chat based cyber threats. The company has introduced a ‘Chat Protection’ feature to users using popular messaging apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, Discord and Telegram.

BitDefender Mobile Security feature assists customers in protecting against malware spread and phishing scams. Now with the chat protection help, users will get alerts and advise them not to forward a message as it looks suspicious or fraud.

However, the feature is available for a premium of $16 per year and includes a VPN access in the pay. It covers devices operating on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS devices, which is outstanding.

NOTE 1- Sold with the name as SOFTWIN between 1996 to 2001, the software company was renamed as Bitdefender in the year 2007. From then, the company has been offering antivirus software, multi-cloud security, extended detection and response and anti-virus and IoT protection.

NOTE 2 –Bitdefender has been assisting Europol European Cybercrime Centre in solving cyber crime from the year 2017 and is also assisting Interpol from the year 2020.

NOTE 3- in Sept’ 21, the company released free decryptors for REvil and Darkside ransomware and the latter turned controversial as the security firm was found self-trumpeting its solution in a wrong way.

NOTE 4- The company has joined Cybersecurity Tech Accord to keep online users safe from prevailing malicious threats.
