Thales and Google Cloud team up for AI powered data security

Thales, company dealing with technologies surrounding big data and artificial intelligence is all set to team up with Google cloud to offer AI powered data security. Such framework will assist to discover, protect, and classify user data as per its sensitivity grade.

“The collaboration of Thales with Google’s Cloud leading AI capabilities will help in addressing the toughest of all security challenges faced during the protection of information”, said Sebastian Cano, the Senior VP of Thales.

He added that Thales CipherTrust Platform’s Intelligent Protection will automate security tasks for enterprise customers having established policies.

On the other hand, Google will be integrating its Vertex AI (Google Proprietary model) solution with Thales AI Intelligence to protect data from fraudulent infiltrations and data thefts.

Meanwhile, on a separate note, Google has issued a statement that it has decided to tweak its privacy policies and from now on use publicly available data to train its machine learning models to build products and features like Bard, Cloud AI and Google Translate.

However, as companies are coming up with their own generative AI models, plenty of class action suits such as the one lodged against Microsoft’s OpenAI might be seen in near future. As such models often collect massive amounts of data including that of stolen private data, just to train its GPT models without user consent.
