BSC in Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations from Pennsylvania

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations is being offered for the first time across the state of Pennsylvania that could be probably the first of its kind across the globe.

As per the press update released by Penn State Lehigh Valley, a commonwealth campus of Pennsylvania State University, the said degree will be offered across 7 campuses from this fall of 2020.

Kermit Burley, the Coordinator of Information Sciences and Technology division of Pennsylvania State University, has confirmed the news and added that the new degree can help in filling the shortage of professionals in Cybersecurity on an extensive note.

According to the recent data released by FBI’s ICC ransomware and phishing attacks along with malware have increased by 400% since the start of COVID 19 pandemic as over 4K incidents are being analyzed on a daily note. The situation is said to deteriorate even further in coming days as the ongoing health crisis seems to be never ending.

So, the need for an efficient workforce to keep the bad-guys at bay has tripled, and this is where the BSC Degree offered by Penn State Lehigh Valley is said to help in reaching the aim by analyzing cyber threats and thwart them beforehand.

As the Pandemic has led to highest unemployment rate across the world, the degree is said to act as an opportunity to pull out professionals from the current workforce struggles.
