Financial tech offering giant Delloite has made it official that it is going to acquire Cloud Security specialist CloudQuest for an undisclosed amount. And trade analysts state that the deal will help Delloite improve its Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) by integrating the Cloud Security Orchestration Automation and Response technology from CloudQuest.
Technically, CloudQuest offers tech that helps companies in cutting down their security workflows along with the feature to improve data security. Therefore, Deloitte plans to use the security orchestration in its Cyber Cloud to monitor, prevent and remediate cyber threats of its cloud landscape.
Note 1– CloudQuest happens to be the second acquisition of Deloitte this year after Root9B- cyber threat detection and response firm.
Note 2- Deloitte is one of the multinational professional services companies based in London and offers services such as audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, tax filing, and legal mediation services. The company happens to be the 3rd largest privately owned business with an employee count of 312,000 professionals.
Note 3- In Sept’17, the company suffered a major cyberattack exposing its employee information and some of the sensitive customer data of its clients. An Autonomous external auditory committee was appointed to probe the incident and that resulted in the write-down of the value of the company to £8.8 billion- only achieved after the purchase by Hewlett-Packard in 2011.
