October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, as well as National Bullying Prevention Month, which means it’s the perfect time to get up-to-date on the activities of the Center for Cyber Safety and Education! Their third lesson of the Garfield’s Cyber Safety Adventuresin the Safe and Secure Online program, “Be Kind Online!” launched this month and is now available for purchase on https://www.cybersafetykits.org/ The focus of the episode is on cyberbullying. The Center now offers a new Digital subscription to the cartoon lessons featuring Garfield and his furry friends are available for your family at just $9.99 per year.
The Center’s vision is to make the cyber world a safer place for everyone, and tackling the issue of cyberbullying is no easy feat. While the Garfield lessons are a great way for you to teach your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews about how to stay safe online, we know that there are so many more children that need to be reached. To help the Center spread the message, they’re asking you – the (ISC)² members – to be ambassadors, and share the message of the Safe and Secure Online Educator kits.
These kits are the perfect tool to bring the Garfield lesson to a group; in schools, scout meetings, churches, libraries, anywhere children in your community can benefit from gathering and learning together. We’re giving away an Educator Kit to one member this month. To enter to win the kit, please join us in the new (ISC)² Community for an Ask Me Anything (AMA) with Center director Patrick Craven. Join us Wednesday, October 25 at 3pm EST over at https://community.isc2.org/.
