Google has made it official at the Google Cloud Summit 2018 that it gives sheer importance to the security of the data stored by the users on its cloud platform. As privacy concerns are increasing, Google has issued the public statement in order to win trust among its customers and stay ahead of its competitors when it comes to cloud security.
“Our business depends a lot on trust factor which is being put forward by our customers. And if we violate that trust, then we may lose customers in this competitive business”, Miles Ward, Director Solutions, Google Cloud.
Mr. Ward added that Google has invested nearly $14 billion in the past 3 years to build up its security infrastructure. This was to stop bad actors in their tracks and keep customer data isolated from any kind of cyber threats.
Google Cloud promises business quality computing, security, data analytics and other business tools. It was recently named as a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Content Collaboration Platforms (CCP).
Home Depot, HSBC, Philips, Coca-Cola, Colgate, Airbus are some of the prestigious customers of Google Cloud.
While delivering a keynote address at the Cloud Summit, Rick Harshman, Managing Director of Google Cloud Platform- Asia Pacific said that his company is also trying to democratize Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning to make it easily accessible and useful to everyone.
Google also showcased its Cloud Auto ML at the summit. The service is useful in simplifying the process of making Machine Learning models for different businesses by using advanced technology from the web search giant.
The internet juggernaut also recently launched a service called Cloud Spanner which is an enterprise-grade database service built for the cloud specifically useful to combine relational database structure with non-relational horizontal scale.
