HornetSecurity acquires Altaro

Cloud based security services provider HornetSecurity has made it official that it will gain Altaro, a backup software offering company for an undisclosed amount. Therefore, HornetSecurity will integrate the technology in its IT services and plans to offer its customers email security, disaster recovery through backups, and data protection from now on.

Technically, Altaro offers backup software to Virtual Machines of Microsoft and VMware. However, its software can be highly customized to support physical servers and Hyper V environments of Microsoft 365.

HornetSecurity Group plans to use these technical capabilities in its cloud security offerings to serve its 40,000 customers that include companies like Konica Minolta, Swisscom, Telefonica, AT& T and some 30 companies operating in Germany.

News is out that the management of Altars will join the senior management’s team of Hornet security by March 2021 and will help the company in reinforcing growing synergies between cloud backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and data protection plans.

NOTE-Veeam that also offers similar backup software is termed to be a rival to Altaro and has recently started off the year 2021 with its Kasten Software that makes the data management of Kubernetes easy.
