The International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)², has made an official announcement that its Professional Development Institute(PDI) Courses related to ransomware: Identity, protect, defend and recover will be available for free of cost until July 31st this year.
To those uninitiated, the PDI course on the file encrypted malware will be covering over 40 topics and is aimed to help companies that are struggling to deal with high profile ransomware attacks such as the one witnessed on Colonial Pipeline in May this year.
“It has become a highly talked subject in boardrooms, among security analysts, the media, and the federal agencies and so the world is looking for education on the subject to better understand the consequences seen by the impact of the malware”, says Mirtha Collin, the Director of (ISC)² Education.
A free course is being offered on ransomware to help people take all measures to avoid becoming a victim added Ms. Collin.
Ransomware Course on ISC titled ‘Quality Matters’ will be a 2-hour course covering topics such as the difference between malware and ransomware, the characteristics to identify, protection strategies, and remediation efforts that must be contoured into the corporate networks in a proactive way.
In order to encourage Security Professionals in seeking the course, (ISC)² is also offering a 25% discount on other (ISC)² PDI Course packages that include malware analysis and Navigation of Cyber Insurance.
A digital badge to display on their social media profiles and a certificate will be provided by the association that strictly deals with Cybersecurity Professional Membership and Skills.
