Russia hacked MH17 investigation in Malaysia

The Dutch government has disclosed yesterday that the laptop used by expelled spies belonging to Russia intelligence contained evidence that the device was used to hack the investigation of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 which is suspected to have crashed into the Indian Ocean in 2014.

Sources reporting to Cybersecurity Insiders say that the laptop used by the GRU intelligence officer had proof that it was used to intercept valuable evidence from the database of the officials investigating MH17 crash investigation in Kuala Lumpur.

A report published by the Dutch authorities in a press conference in Hague also points out to the note that the agents working for Russian Intelligence from Britain were asked to target Malaysian police and the country’s attorney general in order to know the latest developments in the case.

Note 1- As soon as the MH17 Malaysian flight scheduled to travel from Amsterdam to Kula Lumpur crashed into the Indian Ocean on July 17th, 2014, some media sources reported in August 2014 that the flight was ‘shot down’ over Ukraine by the Russian Military as it invaded their airspace in a suspicious manner. The crash is said to have resulted in the killing of all the 298 people on board.

As the four-year-old investigation did not yield credible results the Malaysian airlines chose to announce compensation to the family members of the deceased. But never accepted the fact that the flight has crashed and all the people who board it have died. So, almost all the family members of those who boarded MH17 are in a hope that their loved ones have survived the crash and are not in contact for some reason.

Note 2- Since 2015, the investigation into the downing of MH17 was been carried out by a special team known as the Joint Investigation Team(JIT) comprising police and criminal justice authorities from the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, and Ukraine. US navy offered support to the investigation in between 2015 till the May 2017.

Note 3- The Dutch government officials confirmed yesterday that Russian military used BUK-TELAR rocket to assassinate all the passengers and the MH17 flight. Why the Russian military indulged in such an inhuman practice is yet to be known.
