T- Mobile database hacked and customer info accessed by hackers

T- Mobile a business unit of German Telecom Company Deutsche Telekom AG has disclosed on March 4th, 2020 that a hackers group could have fraudulently accessed its database and could have accessed some consumer’s personal information such as customer names, addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, rate plans which includes billing information.

The best part of the hack is that critical info such as credit card info and social security numbers weren’t impacted- as per the notice put on the official website of T-Mobile

It’s said that the data hack took place on the email vendor which was providing services to the T-Mobile. And the news is out that the threat actors accessed emails of two of the T-Mobile employees who had account info of T-Mobile customers and employees.

Although all customers will be informed by email about the data breach, it is better if they change all necessary steps to prevent hackers from using their data.

So, the Germany based company is requesting its customers to review their account info and change their identification number by dialing 611 from their mobile or calling 1800-937-8997 from any other phone line.

Security policies and the measures related to Cybersecurity are being reviewed by the IT staff of T-Mobile to provide such breach and its impact shortly.

Note- T Mobile has a global subscriber base of 230 million and stands as the 4th largest multinational telecom vendor after UK’s Vodafone, India’s Airtel and Spain’s Telefonica.
