Trend Micro acquires Cloud Conformity to bolster its cloud security business

Trend Micro, a leader in Cybersecurity business has announced yesterday that it is going to acquire Cloud Security Posture Management Company Cloud Conformity for an undisclosed amount. Thus, with the purchase, the company is expecting to secure its stand by using the newly acquired technology to solve cloud infrastructure related misconfigurations.

Cloud Conformity offers the technology of automatically identifying configuration anomalies on cloud platforms. And by integrating the tech into its platform, Trend Micro is said to optimize costs and will ensure that its users get all compliance-related issues such as PCI, GDPR, HIPAA, and NIST resolved within no time.

“As organizations are seen adopting cloud technologies, they are finding it difficult to adjust to issues such as storage, messaging and computing services. Trend Micro is all set to address these issues from the core by extending security offerings which are beyond computing workloads” said Eva Chen, the CEO of Trend Micro.

“We are excited to join a leading cloud security provider as it allows our technology to expand in ways which we could not have done on our own”, said Michael Watts, the CEO of Cloud Conformity.

Note- A report released by Gartner says that by the year 2020, at least 99% of cloud security failures are expected to take place from users’ end. And if organizations implement Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solutions into their cloud platforms, then 80% of misconfiguration failures can be avoided.
