Websites that sell personal data

Nowadays, as more and more people are getting addicted to the digital world, the concern for data privacy is rising. Adding to this concern is the speculations which say that the online privacy of users is being breached by certain website owners who sell info to companies or the threat actors to make money.

You heard enough of this already….right! Okay without taking much of your time lets come to the topic precisely.

Are they any websites that leak/sell personal data to hackers? If so what are the URL names of those websites to stay precautionary?

Technically speaking, it’s not that easy to strike off your name from the list of data brokers and people search sites. And if at all you want to do so, it will burn your pocket for sure.

First, let’s access the list of the data brokering websites which are following-

Acxiom, ALC INC, Advertise4Sales LLC, All Web Leads Inc, Altisource Holdings LLC, Black Knight Data & Analytics, CDK Global LLC, Experian data Corp, Healthcare.com, BeenVerified, InstantCheckmate, Intelius, MyLife, rental Property Solutions, Spokeo, SageStream, Twine Data, PeekYou, PeopleFinders, Pipl, Whitepahes Inc, Zoom Info, …….( the list is big and more names will be added in near future)

Out of these Pipl and Mylife only allow you to remove your data (If Any) through proper channel. Others do not care to address your privacy issues once your info gets on to their radar.

But yes, if at all your info gets onto these websites, then there are other websites that help us remove the data to a certain extent. And the list is as follows-

Privacy Duck, StopDataMiningMe, JoinDeleteMe,
And if your info gets struck on the radar of Credit Reporting websites, then you have full right to request them to delete your personal data or edit (cut down certain facts) it according to your likes.
