Wow, a job offer to hacker by victimized company

A week ago, Poly Network, a cryptocurrency notifying block chain site was hitting the google news headlines for wrong reasons. A hacker stole $600m worth of crypto from the block chain network and transferred the currency to three digital wallets.

Now news is out that the hacker returned half of the money gathered from the heist and promised to return the full amount by this month’s end. The hacker added in a correspondence email with the decentralized platform staff he indulged in the currency stealing only for good and prove their talent and they do not expect to make any money out of the incident.

And as a token of appreciation, Poly Network has announced that it will reward the hacker with an appreciation dubbed “Mr White Hat” and will also award him with a job post of “Chief Security Advisor” for PolyNetwork.

Sources reporting to Cybersecurity Insiders report the hacker isn’t sure of his/her future and so has kept the rest of the stolen amount in a joint account. And Poly Network is still negotiating a deal with the hacker and has offered a $500,000 fund along with the CSA job to convince the hacker to return the rest of the fund.

But the hacker seems to be disinterested with the offer and wants a bulky share from the stolen currency and also an assurance that no criminal proceedings will be slapped on him/her as soon as the identity of the hacker gets disclosed.

Analysis of Cybersecurity Insiders- If we start offering laurels, currency and job designation to hackers, then it will encourage criminals in launching more such cyber attacks…….isn’t it?
